Welcome!
The sweet spot of my practice is for individuals who are struggling with their self-esteem, identity, their sense of purpose, and with relationships. The “I’m not good enough” or “I’m too much” struggle has been going on for a while and has led to symptoms of depression, anxiety, mood fluctuations, panic, phobias, agoraphobia, etc., You may have experienced close relationships in which you "feel crazy" and feel like you have to walk on "eggshells" to avoid conflict with your loved one. You may feel like you're always doing something wrong and may even wake up feeling a sense of "dread" and/or a a chronic un-fillable, void. Although there is nothing medically wrong with you, you may experience chronic brain fog, fatigue, and potentially a variety of somatic issues. You may be perfectionistic, compare yourself to others, and ruminate about what you just said or did (or didn't and should have). You may put others’ needs ahead of your own and have a deep need to please and be liked and accepted. You feel unsafe if you are not liked. You may struggle with boundaries and have difficulty identifying your needs, taking up space in the world, and often do not feel worthy. You may be detached from what you need and accepting compliments is uncomfortable.
Remember that we never outgrow the need to be seen, validated, and accepted by someone we love. We need someone to love us for our brilliant parts as well as the hidden vulnerable parts.
If any of this resonates with you, we may be a good match.
Dr. Shirley Ruzo
I’m a direct and highly empathic clinician that provides a safe and nurturing space to heal these parts of you. I use a variety of evidence-based modalities while seeing the whole, organic, authentic part of you that you may be trying to either discover or get back to. I integrate an element of making meaning of your experiences ideally with an element of purpose (and spirituality, if you are so inclined).
